Visit from Cyprus and Poland

Vormingplus Limburg organizes all kind of activities in the free time of people. They want to make a social difference with their activities. That’s why they participate in an Erasmus+ project. In the week October 8-10 2019 organizations from Poland and Cyprus visited Vormingplus. Together they want to stimulate innovation and exchange good practices.

The subject of the Erasmus+ project SENCIT is ‘migration and integration’. A few colleagues of Vormingplus Limburg visited Cyprus in April. They learned different methods of how de colleagues of Cyprus work with the themes of migration and integration.

During October 8-10 it was up to Vormingplus Limburg to show their projects and methods. The first day the Agency of Civic Integration gave presentations of how Belgium works for the integration of migrants. On Wednesday October 9 we visited Beringen for a multicultural tour.

The guide gave us an explanation of the Belgium migration history. Thursday October 10 we organized a workshop storytelling. And between all the educational activities, there was also time for intercultural exchange and a chance to taste some typical Belgium dishes and drinks.


Bezoek uit Cyprus en Polen


Vormingplus Limburg organiseert allerlei activiteiten in de vrije tijd. Ze doen dit grotendeels vanuit een maatschappelijke insteek. In dat kader nemen ze deel aan het Erasmus+ project en vorige week kwamen er organisaties uit Polen en Cyprus op bezoek bij Vormingplus om samen innovatie te stimuleren en goede praktijken uit te wisselen.

Het onderwerp van het Erasmus+ traject is ‘migratie en integratie’. Eerder brachten enkele medewerker van Vormingplus Limburg al een bezoek aan Cyprus om daar te leren op welke manier de Cypriotische collega’s binnen het thema migratie en integratie werken. Maar vorige week was het dus aan Vormingplus zelf.

De organisatie toonde voorbeelden van projecten die ze in het verleden realiseerde. Daarnaast kwam het Agentschap Inburgering een uitleg geven over hoe ons land werk maakt van integratie.

Woensdag bracht de volledige groep een bezoek aan Beringen voor een multiculturele hapjestocht, terwijl een gids uitleg gaf die over de Belgische migratiegeschiedenis. Donderdag was de laatste dag en toen was het tijd voor een workshop storytelling. En tussen alle educatieve activiteiten door, was er uiteraard ook tijd voor interculturele uitwisseling op het vlak van typisch Belgische gerechtjes.
